Mammoth is a great place to ski. The poor guy who was complaining about the line at chair 2 should take some lessons to get past the beginner level. The wait rarely if ever is actually that long at #2. The mid and upper mountain have short lines if any. I've skied all over the western US and Canada and made one trip to France (I'll never do that again!) and MMT is at or near the top. The snow is very under rated. I've seen light face-shot-every-turn snow on Mothers' Day in May and 4 feet of new snow on July 3rd. I don't understand how Whistler gets the great reviews. The hotels and restaurants around the base are great if skiing is only a secondary objective but the snow is a chancy situation...rain and bare ground are as likely as snow (wet). I'll admit I've been skiing MMT for 30 years and I'am a season pass holder.
