Mammoth was hit with great snow this season, and we were able to go mid-week, which was not crowded. Conditions were great. Employees were nice.

There was a fatal flaw for us however which will probably prevent us from going back to Mammoth -- as a visitor, you are forced to listen to extremely loud pop music almost everywhere on the mountain. Every restaurant on the hill, blaring out of the bottom of every lift, and to add insult to injury, even on the Gondola, the speakers for the snowboard park are actually attached to the top of the Gondola, so you literally cannot have a conversation on the Gondola as it's louder than a nightclub on the way up... SO tacky and unnecessary...

Many of us live in big cities and come to a place like Mammoth to get away from noise.... why does Mammoth insist on cheapening its environment and destroying the quiet like this?
