This is Stump Alley. Surface is machine groomed hard packed with a half-inch of granular powder. Trail coverage is excellent. Lots of runs to ski, I was surprised how good it is.

Skiing was great Monday and Tuesday. Lots of runs are open including three and five and solitude. Should be plenty of snow to ski on through the weekend. It is warming up a little bit but the trail coverage is very good to excellent.

Cornice opened today. All man made, but fun anyway. Icy entrance and softer once on run. Having top open definitely thinned out the crowd

Looks like this is the first actual report of the season! Skied opening day and Friday morning and it's awesome to be back on the hill! There's very few runs open, but what is open is solid. Mammoth's snow crew deserves a lot of credit.

What you'll get on the hill is super firm cord in the morning, bordering on ice up on Saddle Bowl. By 11, everything has softened up for some decent turns. Hint: Everyone's doing an early morning half day, so unless you have some deep desire to have first tracks, ski after noon and get the mountain to yourself.

Six lifts open, great coverage at top, icy and hard in a.m., softens by 10 or so. 1,3,5,6,23 all open. its almost summer so to me well worth it.
