Buenos Dias my friends,
Cup:O:Joe in hand, with cold temps greeting the day here @KirkwoodMtn... 21@ both the base and summit, with maybe an inch of Mother Nature's natural on the deck... Not much of that system made it over the summit last night here in the (209)...
The battle for Solitude still goes on with our Mtn. Team making some great progress over-night...
Both big brothers Heavenly & Northstar open today @9am for all of you with Epic, Tahoe Local or Value passes... We will continue to make snow and work on our Solitude over the next few days to get open as soon as possible here...
Forecast's all have this next system moving into the region late today / tonight with a much more robust JET & moisture plum associated with her...
"The next system which is more of a plume of moisture embedded in
strong jet stream energy will streak across NorCal tonight and
Saturday. This system has the deeper moisture with precipitable
water values 1.00-1.50 inches. Rainfall amounts will range from
.10-.60 for valleys and 0.75-1.50 inches for the mountains,
beginning late today up north and spreading southeastward
tonight. Snow levels will be high with this warm system starting
around 6500 feet...but rising to 7500-8000 feet after midnight
tonight. Only an inch or two of snow will fall at highest
elevations, except 5-7 inches over Lassen Peak. Breezy valley
winds and strong high level winds will develop today."
We'll wait watch & see... I'm headed over the Northstar for the opening celebrations today :)
