I'm a season pass holder at Kirkwood--what a mistake! This season has got to be the most disappointing season I've had in any resort. One good snow weekend and the resort would get major power outage and fire! What?! They would advertise on their newsletters some exaggerating things like "over 400 feet of snow!", "epic season", blah! blah! blah, but what they don't say is "we have a power outage, don't come here!"
The lift handlers are clueless-they look like they either have a hangover or just hate their jobs. Most of them just talk to each other, oblivious to the fact that there's a long line of cold, disgruntled skiers! It's a given that they're mostly foreigners who come here to work for peanuts, but this attitude interferes with the flow of things, it's really not worthwhile to stand in line for 20 minutes.
On weekends, they like to close the good runs...I get it, too many newbies, too many liabilities, but what about those expert skiers who drive for hours to come here? So they blame it on the wind, or broken lifts. I can't believe these ridiculous excuses!!! There are way too many ski resorts around, you don't need to waste your time here!
