We have been to Mammoth now 4 times from the UK. OK if the snow is thin right now, that is bad! But each Easter Monday we ahve been to JUne - think the best days you could imagine at Glen Coe - great skiing, great snow, no people AND a place to eat how stew as you gaze at the Sierra Nevada and Mono Lake - it does not get like this on Easter Day in Tignes! The peace, snow scenery, and lack of people make the flight and drive worth it! Last year on Easter Day we skied right down back to the car park at the end of the day. The access lift even feels like Glencoe in the 1980s! For apres ski drive to Lee Vining and go to the Diner, or 20 miles south of Mammoth go to Tom's place, or 5 miles south of Mammoth jump in the hot springs! On a hot day try Bodie Ghost town. Its "Hotel California" skiing!
