We have been coming to Homewood for 10+ years, from before we had children. Now are children are 7 and 9 and have been skiing since they were 2.
We love the slower, understated pace of Homewood. There are no prima donna skiers or people here to show off or "hang about in the village", just folks out to have a great day out on the slopes. As other have said, the view is unsurpassed. The skiing, while not that of a top resort, is still surprisingly extensive and varied given how little known the resort is. And the lift tickets are the best value in the region.
Our main disappointment through the years has been the ski school. We have given it enough "last chances" to prove itself over the years and it's consistently, year on year, proven to be terrible. They are disorganized, pay little attention to the kids' learning or even safety. Kids get collected without parents' tags/IDs being checked, and left to go up and down the magic carpet without much in the way of encouragement or help. We picked up our son after lunch once, he was sitting there without gloves on. We asked why that was and the instructor said "oh, sometimes the kids leave their gloves inside during lunch and forget to bring them out for the afternoon". At the time he was 5 years old!
