While the mountain is vast, it is not very well connected. There is no easy way to get around or to get from the California side to the Nevada side. We were there 3/4/09 after the big snow fall. The mountain was late opening and only had 4 chairs operating. They did however tell us this when we purchased the tickets. Food is way expensive. Nice to say I've been there, but not one of our favorites.
