The resort is definitely not a place you want to go with kids or people who are fairly new to snowboarding or skiing. You can shoot up gunbarrel (one of the few lifts that actually let you go DOWN the mountain as well as UP) where you'll find the somewhat easier terrain but a lot of them lead into trails that are very narrow that zig zag and if you don't have the experience to ride them you can cause congestion. Much like Squaw, the trails are long, narrow and actually have a gradual upward grade to many of the trails which makes it a very poor place for snowboarders, but perfect for skiers. Next, you want to take into consideration that it gets extremely crowded.
I'd say the ONLY thing good about this resort is 1) it's pretty big, which also means if you get split up from your friends, you probably won't see them until you're back at the lodge. 2) the views from the California side is probably the most spectacular views you will ever see. Great place for taking pictures, sub-par place to enjoy a day of snowboarding.
