Rode NV runs: Pepi's, Olympic, Stagecoach, Comet and Crossover on 12/31. Considering the weather, snow was great in the morning, but deteriorated after lunch with moguls and ice becoming serious issues. There are few, if any, blacks open so pretty much everyone is crowded onto the blues. If you need green runs, definitely go to the CA side until they have enough snow to open Boulder Bowl. I'm only in my 7th season, so no expert, but I'm glad I had a chance to ride during the holiday week. On 1/2 we rode/skied the CA side, mostly Maggie's and Ridge Run. Morning snow was even nicer, but by afternoon crowds, moguls where you would not expect them, and ice in the shade caused more than the average number of crashes. Because of the crowds on the blue runs, it's probably best to go slower than you usually would, but you can just spend your time working on new stuff. Definitely worth the trip up from the Bay Area.
