Area Profile

Few ski resorts match Heavenly's scenic beauty and expansive network of lifts, terrain, trails, and snowmaking. Located on the south shore of Lake Tahoe, Heavenly is the region's largest mountain resort, featuring the highest elevation and longest vertical drop.

The views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra mountain range are magnificent. The snowfall tops 20 feet virtually every year and you can slide over 4,800 skiable acres. This resort spans two states (California and Nevada. Heavenly is owned by Vail Resorts, Inc.

Lodging Profile

Eleven lodges within walking distance. Over 250 hotels and motels in South LakeTahoe. Shuttle bus transportation service available to most hotels and motels. Camper facilities not available at ski area, although there are many private and public campgrounds nearby. There's plenty of night life and gambling.

Services Profile

Ski shops and boutiques. Nursery and childcare available nearby. First aid at area and Barton Memorial Hospital within six miles. Ski rental and repair available on-site. Cross country rental and repair services offered nearby. Lessons, racing, powder, shaped skis, junior, children and handicapped.

Area Recreation Profile

Take a 2.4 mile Gondola scenic ride to the summit. Heavenly offers up hiking trails, mountain biking trails, or fish in Heavenly's own East Peak Lake. Nearby activities include boating, kayaking, swimming, fishing, parasailing, and hot air balloon rides. Top of the Tram is open to banquets, special social events, and weddings. Ask about Heavenly's own list of local historical attractions, restaurant recommendations and events calendar.

Snowboarding Profile

Snowboarders are welcome. Heavenly features a boardercross trail, four terrain parks for all abilities, and a halfpipe, as well as several terrain features built around the mountain regularly. They recently installed a lighted terrain park for night riding at the California base.
