Dodge ridge has always been one of my favorite places and sure its not Tahoe but that is what makes it great. Dodge has a great ski school, less crowds than Tahoe and is also much cheaper. The downhill is varied from beginner to advanced although not nearly as many advanced runs as some of the Tahoe resorts. The Terrain parks are great though and can mach anything I have seen in Tahoe.My only complaint with Dodge is that that Lifts can take forever sometimes and the area is not very populated but hey some people like that.
Overall great place to escape the crowds at Tahoe.
