My boys and I started skiing just two years ago, in the middle of a great season. We found Boreal was a great place to start. We snapped up season passes for next to nothing, skied out the end of the season and eagerly awaited opening day. The next season was a completely different story.
The resort can't help the weather, but they should bear some responsibility for keeping the environment safe, clean, and G-rated. If you prefer to NOT see sagging snow pants, dangerously crowded slopes, horrendously long lift lines and decals on snowboards that boast profanity, Boreal is not the place for you. There are big signs on each door to the lodge reading, "No Skis/Snowboards in Lodge". These signs are routinely ignored, to the point that the lodge becomes an obstacle course. We decided to shell out a few more bucks and are much happier at Sugar Bowl.
