Located in North Lake Tahoe in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountain range, Alpine Meadows is a gem amongst its fellow resorts surrounding Lake Tahoe. It features 2,400 acres of skier and rider accessible terrain, over 100 trails serviced by 13 lifts and the highest annual snowfall of 450 inches in Lake Tahoe. Spread across Ward Peak and Scott Peak, Alpine Meadows is home to seven bowls – Alpine, Estelle, Beaver, Wolverine, Sun Bowl, Big Bend Bowl and S.P. Bowl – to challenge skiers and riders of every level and ability. Alpine Meadows also has an open boundary policy that allows experienced skiers and riders with proper equipment to get a taste of untracked snow. However, the resort does not patrol or address potential dangers and hazards beyond the ski area boundary, so be forewarned of assuming the risks. Having merged with Squaw Valley, a free shuttle transports guest between resorts on a shared lift ticket.
Day lodge with sundeck, full service restaurant, bar/lounge, cafeteria, espresso bar, mountainside deli and on-hill ice bar. Ski shop, ski rental/repair and cross country rental/repair available. Adaptive ski school, Snow School for ages 4-12, and Ski Camp for ages 6-12. Ski lessons offered for all levels of ability. Short-ski (Direct To Parallel) beginner program. Special interest clinics, including mogul, freestyle, snowboard, powder and telemark. Private, level III instructor-guided out-of-bounds tours. First aid available at area with Tahoe Forest Hospital 14 miles away.
