Spent the 15th of February skiing at Alpine Meadows, and to say that I was blown away by my first Lake Tahoe ski experience would be an understatement. Started snowing as we were driving down from Incline Village, and didn't stop the entire day. Alpine was drenched in powder all day long, with fresh tracks to be found all day long. This was despite the closure of the upper half of the mountain, so skiing Alpine pretty much meant skiing the Roundhouse Express lift all day. But this didn't matter much - I was able to find some fun steeps and little cliffs between the tree and under the lifts. Incredibly, my last run of the day I stumbled upon a totally untouched section of fresh powder, probably a foot of fresh or more. Amazing introduction to powder skiing the Sierras, I'll be back!
