I have been fortunate enough to have ridden Whistler many times. (Dec 06, Jan 07 and Mar 08 a week at a time) Every time I have been here the conditions were amazing, basically snowed everyday. However, don't expect to many bluebird days as a typical day in Whistler is overcast when it does not snow. Be sure to bring the right goggles to deal with the flat light. The variety and amount of terrain here is ridiculous. Between the marked runs, bowls, back bowls, terrain parks, glades and back country I have yet to ride the entire resort. To put it in perspective, it is the only resort that will give you a mountain atlas rather than just a "map." The Cirque, has to be my favorite run since it is easy to access and is very steep. You also can't leave without doing the Dave Murray Downhill, which is the run for the 2010 Olympic Men's Downhill. As for amenities there are many different lodges all over the mountain for you and your friends to grab a bite to eat. Whether you want a lunch room style meal or table service you can find it in almost every lodge. At the end of the day you can hit the village and grab some drinks at one of the many pubs before dinner. The village is vast and has plenty of places to eat and shop at so there is something for everyone. As for the down days, you can go snowmobiling, dog sledding, tubing, watch a movie at theatre or just wander the village. Oh yeah for those with deeper pockets there is heli-boarding/skiing. In the end be prepared to spend some cash but after all is said and done it will be worth it. If you are from the East Coast like me, definitely plan a trip out to Whistler at least once. You will get spoiled and almost not want to ride anywhere else.
