Huge terrain, restaurants, nightlife, cosmopolitan
PNW climate - can be rainy at base
The terrain at Whistler Blackcomb is huge and has something for everyone. It's a great place for families with the varied terrain and lots to do in the village. I especially like the cosmopolitan crowd. Half the lifties are Aussies, and there are people from Canada, US, Europe, and Asia. The nightlife in Whistler is very lively. There's so much to do in Whistler that you can have a great time and never make it up the hill.
The sushi in Whistler is fantastic. I could eat sushi every night - Sushi Village, Sachi, Kaze, just to name a few.
The climate is Pacific Northwest, which means it's not as sunny as the Rockies and the snow's not as dry. It can be raining in the village -- and maybe it's clear up top, but maybe it's cloudy or snowing, or even raining. The snow level can get quite high.
When it's good -- and it very often is -- I think it's the best resort in North America.
