It's not near as bad as most people are saying. Had great snow all day and its still snowing.

Not sure what all the hate is about. There is more terrain, trails and grooming open than anywhere else on the planet. Everyone seems to be having a blast and the sun is shining. It is Winter and no one can predict or create weather, so lighten up, stop your whining, grab your equipment and get up here and start Livin the Dream!!!

Skied here for along time and today was the worst I've seen it for this time of the year since 05/06. I believe the freezing level rose to 1800 meters yesterday then went down to the valley so it's pretty ice'y and hard packed below 1800 meters but above that (top of Glacier express, top of 7th heaven and t-bar area on Blackcomb) it wasn't to bad. How ever there is a major lack of snow and runs look covered and tempting but after you tag your board or skies by rocks that are just barley covered a few times you will realize there not. This is a picture I took today looking down at the top of the Glacier Express on Blackcomb. Stay high on the mountain and cruise the groomers or hike for the pow that's up there.

If anyone is saying its horrible, they didn't go up any higher than one lift. Here's the deal... I flew in from Chicago, and was bummed this morning... It was POURING at the base, and pretty warm. I waited until glacier express opened around 11:30am, and headed up the mountain. About a quarter of the way up the rain turned to snow and there was even sun and blue skies at the summit towards the end of the day. Most trails are decent packed powder, some ice and some rocks/bare patches, but there is lots of powder and great bumps to be found. Could be better, but the amount of terrain that is open makes up for it. Symphony and Harmony look like they have tons of potential tomorrow. This pic was taken around 2pm today (12/27). Stop complaining and start looking.

Once you get above the clouds and up to the end of the gondola, it was actually very pleasant. The sun peaked out at 12 and made it good fun. Don't waste your time at the base, the peak should be open tomorrow apparently.

Today was great. Started off raining at the bottom, but was snowing heavy at the top. When the snow settled, the sun was out and the powder was amazing.

Visibility wise it was clear. It was snowing just a tad at the very too of whistler's mountain. And very light rain towards the bottom. It was a good day to ski.

First runs of the season today! But so cold! -12C. Blackcomb in the sunshine, bit icy, but also better snow than expected. No lineups. Not many people on slopes. Worth it.
