Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a great destination for skiers and riders looking for a diverse mix of challenging terrain and excellent snow conditions. Located about 14km outside of Golden, British Columbia, Kicking Horse features one of the longest vertical drops in North America. The ski area is home to large alpine bowls, long steep chutes and short lift lines.
With spectacular scenery and limitless terrain to explore, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a hidden gem in British Columbia. The snow that falls at Kicking Horse is consistently dry, light and a powder lover’s dream. There is less skier traffic compared to other resorts and lift lines are a rare sight.
The terrain at Kicking Horse consists of wide open alpine bowls at the top with more intermediate to beginner trails towards the base. The resort is known for having excellent expert and advanced terrain. The bowls contain large tree glades and ridges that fan out with accompanying chutes, steeps and great lines.
The intermediate and beginner terrain is located towards the base are wide tree-lined groomers with a large learner’s area at the bottom. Intermediates and beginners can travel to the summit and take “It’s a 10”, a 10km long trail that takes skiers and riders from top to bottom.
Take the gondola to the summit of Kicking Horse to experience amazing food paired with unparalleled views. Eagle’s Eye Restaurant is very popular and has some of ski country’s best food with favorites like wild-boar poutine and elk burgers.
