Pros: A great challenge
Cons: Gondola loading

We visited the resort on March 8th (evening), 9th and 10th and found it to be the best we have visited as far as ease of getting to all amenities, lifts, food resources and found all staff were very friendly. The Mountaineer Lodge was very cosy and had all the breakfast cutlery, dishes, fridge, coffee machine, coffee, sugar and sink- just perfect for a couple of early mornings. The view from the clean and well appointed room was fabulous- from the balcony looking right up the lower ski runs.
I personally found the entire hill a spectacular gem that in the near future is going to develop even more of the terrain from what we hear. I can understand that the Gondola could be a bottle neck and wonder if the management will install a European card reading system and let folks self load. We have been in many resorts in Europe where the capacity is higher also and the shut down setting for high wind is much less stringent.
Once at the top, there are so many interesting runs and the terrain is wonderful to explore. The Eagle’s Eye Restaurant and bar is a truly classy place and inspires us to think of the well planned resort management’s thinking. This hill is very challenging to anyone in the blue category, especially at the start of some of the runs but with time, a certain confidence grows and gliding down the well groomed lower mountain to relax is special.
I am interested in the next phases of the development at the resort and will try to have some involvement with a real estate purchase over the next 9 months or so. It is a great place to stay and have a wonderful experience. Thanks Kicking Horse Resort management and staff for the great adventure!!
