Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a great destination for skiers and riders looking for a diverse mix of challenging terrain and excellent snow conditions. Located about 14km outside of Golden, British Columbia, Kicking Horse features one of the longest vertical drops in North America. The ski area is home to large alpine bowls, long steep chutes and short lift lines.
With spectacular scenery and limitless terrain to explore, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a hidden gem in British Columbia. The snow that falls at Kicking Horse is consistently dry, light and a powder lover’s dream. There is less skier traffic compared to other resorts and lift lines are a rare sight.
The closest international airport to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is the Calgary International Airport (YYC), a 2.5 hour drive or shuttle ride from Golden along the scenic Trans Canada Highway. It provides multiple daily commercial flights to and from most regional, national and international destinations.
The Canadian Rockies International Airport (YXC) - located in Cranbrook, British Columbia - is two and a half hours south of Golden via Highway 95 through the heart of the Kootenay Rockies. Delta Air Lines offers regular flights to and from Salt Lake City from here, with connections to many other cities in the U.S.
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and the Kamloops Airport (YKA) are west of Golden, located nine and five hours away, respectively.
It's a three-hour drive from Calgary on the Trans Canada Highway. As you approach Golden, turn left on Hwy 95. Kicking Horse is less than 10 miles to the north, once you are in Golden.
Ground shuttle service is available from Calgary International Airport to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, providing the convenience of not having to rent a vehicle while riding in comfort and enjoying the spectacular mountain scenery along the way. Shuttle service is also available from several Banff and Lake Louise area hotels, offering a special rate to Kicking Horse pass holders. A local shuttle service runs between Golden and the resort several times a day throughout the ski season.

For travel from Kicking Horse Resort Mountain Resort and Golden, a vehicle is required unless you make use of the daily Snow Shuttle Service.
