After visiting Whistler/Blackcomb, we decided to try Vancouver's local hill before heading back to the States. I didn't expect much but found it better than expected. The new lodge is quite nice and hopefully they'll add seating outside so people can enjoy the sunnier days. We took a lesson, very reasonably priced and the teacher was pretty good, much better priced and better teaching than Whistler/Blackcomb.
The best part was looking out at the inlet and the hills bordering it. Best time to be there has got to be sundown. The sun shone a golden line across the water to the land and then the sky turned those beautiful sundown colors. We skiied later than we usually do (we don't like night skiing) but it was so very lovely. And of course for those who love good eating after good skiing, Vancouver is The place. This is the second time we've been in Vancouver and both times we happened into small Chinese restaurants and both times we were rewarded with creative, delicious meals.
