I wish they would actually care about their customers and not ripping people off by taking their money and not caring about the guests. The poweder chair broke down and they made everyone walk 2 hours up hill. Elderly and children. Horrible experience. Management needs some serious help! They are not a family resort total rip off go anywhere else.
Beautiful weather and trails
Everything Overpriced. No shuttle or transport around the town centre anymore. $200 for a sweater in a shop in the town square.

Way overpriced to ski on fake snow and rocks. Only thing good about this place is the village is pretty nice but over priced as well. Condos are popping up everywhere making the line ups rediculous deffinatly not worth the trip. Would rather go to a hill that has powder and not so many up tight tourists.
Decent mountain if ya like man made snow
Over priced, busy, fake snow, rocks

I’ve skied several ski hills over the past 40years including Whistler, Norquay, Sunpeaks, Silver Star, Lake Louise, Sunshine, Marmot, Apex, Whitewater, Panorama, Fernie, Kimberley, and Revelstoke. Big white is now my hometown hill and it never lets you down. Great snow, great slack country, awesome glades, and not too busy. It has some of the best ski in/out accommodations of any hill I’ve been to. This is a great place for beginners and advanced skiers but experts mainly have the cliff chair to hit double blacks. Xc ski trails are great if you like skate skiing as well.
Snow. Gem lake’s length. Lots of tree skiing
Visibility can be poor at top of mountain

I can't complain about the snowboarding conditions... They're excellent. Best snow ever. The lifties are great too. My issue is with some of the lodge staff... I order the same thing from the clock tower cafe every time I go up(2 lattes, one big cookie) and supposedly season pass holders get a discount upon presentation. For the past 4 weeks the cafe has charged me 3 different prices for the same order... The cheapest price being when I forgot to present my season's pass! It makes no sense. I called them on it twice, and both times they told me the other cashier must have screwed up. So by that logic, every one of them screws the same thing up.... Do they think I'm an idiot? Good thing the mountain is good enough to offset the rating, because although that cafe has the best coffee in Kelowna, the staff definitely doesn't know how to work a cash register consistently.
The mountain, the snow, the variety
Visibility sucks often, staff aren't great with math

Poorly designed village means you are walking on ski runs to get to accommodations, skiers and boarders screaming by as you stumble up a ski run. Have they heard of covered walkways or sidewalks? The restaurants are adequate but not impressive. Visibility ie FOG is an issue. Don't dare venture down to the gem lake side of the mountain later in the day or you may be left with no way back to the village once the lift closes. Big White will shut the lift at the end of the day and there is no access back to the village. My children had to hitch hike back to the village - they are are 10 and 12! The skiing is very tame with the only steep terrain accessed by a 50 year old fixed grip chair that runs at a glacial pace - The Cliff Chair. Don't believe the Hype, Big Hype... go to Red Mountain, Revelstoke if you want steep terrain on a real mountain. If you must ski in the Okanagan, go to Silver Star.
snow?

Great mountain for all levels, best for family’s with any age of children. Ski schools are the best in the world. Need at least a week better if you have two. Could not ski or snowboard the entire terrain in that time, it will only make you want to come back for more.
Ski in ski out village

This a very good resort for beginners and intermediate skiers/boarders with generally lovely powdery snow. Lots of ski-in-out makes it easy to get onto the slopes and home again. It is also not so busy most of the time and lift lines are generally short. The on-slope village is quite small and so not rowdy (except for Australia Day - Hooray!!!). It is also super family friendly - nice!. Being an older intermediate skier I love it here and this coming year will be my 4th in a row - Love it!
ski in-out, good snow,family friendly
Lots of foggy days
