Good snow, Fast lifts with few lines, Some good tree skiing
Intermediate mountain, No steeps, no expert terrain, too easy
Big white is a good place for families and for beginner or intermediate skiers. Bad place for advanced or expert skiers.
While it does have some "advanced" terrain it is not all that good. The Cliff is steepish for about 4 or 5 turns and then flattens out. The big bowl past The Cliff has some good lines but is mostly sketchy and end in a nice flat bottom. The runs here are short.
Gem lake is the longest runs but it needs quite a bit of snow to be good. It is the are of the mountain that opens latest in the season. It really needs to fill in. The runs are long but the trees in between are inconsistent with frequent squeeze action and close outs.
There is no bump skiing to speak of though some of the locals think there is.
The only other area on the mountain that has some adventurous terrain is from the Falcon Chair. Unfortunately this also needs lots of snow and does not open till later in the season. And it is often unskiable due to whiteout conditions.
Hey they don't call it Big Whiteout for nothing
