Cons: lots of people, resort prices, bad US-CDN exchange rate

I went here on a school trip, we stayed at the Urban Retreat hostel (right on a ski run!) for pretty cheap. The hostel was awesome, played good music, and had drifters from all over the western world.
The mountain was exquisite, and I had the best tree skiing since Jackson hole/ grand targhee Wyoming. The lifts were fast, locals friendly and willing to show visitors good, little-known runs.
I'm not a fun of most mega-resorts, but the village here, though VERY overpriced; especially for me, a WA state US citizen, who did not enjoy the exchange rate. The bars are pretty cool, and it was my first real "apres ski" so I won't try to say its better or worse than others. Staying less than a half mile from the bar was nice, too, because a cab/ DD was not required. The cheapest pitcher, PBR, was $15 CDN, which I found outrageous (my college town has $5 pitchers). I paid almost $20 for a pitcher of Molsen, a domestic.
On the whole though, great skiing, great environment, am returning next year!
