lots of vertical, high speed lifts, big mountain
lift lines exist, pow tracked out quickly (saturday)
Went on a two day trip to Big White, and had my first ski in/ski out experience at the Urban Retreat Hostel. Good people from all over the western world staying there, most notably a lot of Aussies. I, a WA state resident, felt like more like I was the local in the situation.
The night life was great, though you DO pay resort prices for drinks; the cheapest pitcher was $15, and Jagerbombs were $15 for two. Even the liquor store charged almost $30 for a 1/5 of captain morgan. So if you plan to get drunk, bring booze from the US to prefunk, or the "apres ski" gets expensive. Plus, you're in BC, so there are other ways of intoxication.
The mountain was great, 3,000 ft or so of vertical, mostly serviced by high speed lifts. Some of the best tree runs I've had were there, and the snow was good too. The pow got tracked out pretty early, especially so because it was a weekend, but there was still plenty of fresh if you looked through the trees.
