The ski region Bregenzerwald is situated in a snow-reliable location on the northern border of the Alps. Winds heading up from the west usually provide the region with a nice snow cover mostly lasting until the end of the following spring.

The ski areas belonging to the Bregenzerwald are Alberschwende, Hittisau-Riefensberg, Schwarzenberg-Bödele, Au/Schoppenau, Andelsbuch-Bezau and Egg-Schetteregg. Egg offers good conditions for beginners and families because of it’s smooth mountain sides (100 – 1400 m altitude). Alberschwende is also considered to be very family-friendly. The ski area possesses 18 kilometers of slopes made accessible by lifts.

A 4 km long, well-groomed toboggan run adds to the mix as well as circuits of different lengths for cross-country skiers. Skiing in the Bregenzerwald is tailor-made for not so experienced skiers because 11 well trained teachers are happy to introduce or refine the guests in the art of skiing.
