  • Avi Awareness Up in Utah and Colorado

    Utah and Colorado's crazy weather patterns have continued with sporadic blasting snowstorms. Resorts have been getting a foot or so, with a few days off between storms. The heavy snow triggered an avalanche on Berthoud Pass, which is the road you take from Denver and I-70 to get to Winter Park. Full Article

  • Jeep Flies High at Copper

    Big air and superpipe stunts will be all over Copper Mountain later this month, for the Jeep U.S. Freeskiing Open. It's the tenth year for the event, to be held January 17-21 at the Summit County resort. The prize purse totals $60,000 and over 300 athletes are expected to compete in Slopestyle, Superpipe and Big Air. Full Article

  • Breckenridge Gets a New Gondola

    Breckenridge has reached a milestone in its development with the opening of the new BreckConnect Gondola. With room for eight, the gondola connects Breckenridge's main parking lot off Main Street, with the ski resort's base areas. Full Article

  • Colorado Storm Slams Front Range - Again

    Once again, a big holiday storm slammed Colorado's Front Range. This time, the snow piled up post-Christmas, and hit Denver and Boulder the hardest. Resorts closer to the Front Range got the most snow, such as Eldora, SolVista Basin, and Loveland. Winter Park loved the snow, as you can see from the powder picture. Full Article

  • Denver Gets Walloped, Ski Resorts Escape

    Denverites were hit hard for the second time in a little more than a week as a major winter storm rolled through the area, knocking out power and shutting down the airport again. The ski areas, meanwhile, stayed pretty dry. Full Article

    Denver and the Front Range had to shut down for what some have called the Storm of the Year. It put a halt to holiday travel, especially at Denver International Airport, where travelers could only look at the snow, rather than get to play on it. Full Article
