Went last night. The first hour was okay after they had groomed, but then it turned into slushy mashed potatoes. I looked for any spot that still had groomed snow, which was Big Red and just about it. By 9 o'clock the conditions were horrible.
The slopes are slowly warming up during the day making the snow a thick slush in the collection points where all the runs meet. Spots that are thin are icing up or slushing up and after today I doubt they will get much better.
Went snowboarding wed. Yes it rained, but still had a blast. Sugar mtn is the best around. Was slick way up top and some slush towards bottom, but come on...it's march!!! Be happy just to have fun on the slopes.
We drove about 3 hours so I was really disappointed. It will be warming up over the weekend so it should soften up a bit by Monday. Usually if it's just drizzling it's ok, but if it's pouring I wouldn't bother.
Planning on coming Sunday night and Monday. Think it'll be a total waste then? Not from a part of the country that gets snow. If it's raining Monday do you just suck it up and ski still? Or do they shut the place down?
