Veľká Fatra mountains spreads between Liptovská and Turcianska Basin. The west bound is Low Tatras and the south bound is Kremnické hills. Veľká Fatra is one of the best-preserved mountain chain in Slovakia and in 2002 the area was declared as a National Park. Tourists can visit several natural attractions in this park,such as Gaderská or Blatnická Valley, Harmanecká cave. There is nice view from Ostredok (the highest mountain peak - 1592 m), from Krížna or Borišov ... But in besides tourism Veľká Fatra has got ideal conditions for skiing and extreme sports. There is Park Snow Donovaly and Ski Park Ružomberok.
