Belluno: Home To The Largest Glacier In The Dolomites
The province of Belluno is a mountainous region featuring the mighty Dolomites. It is home to the famous peaks of Tofane, Marmolada, and Cime di Lavaredo. The capital of the province is the city of Belluno - a quiet, friendly city with fortified towers, picturesque piazzas, and Venetian style architecture.
The province is home to a number of ski resorts, including Arabba-Marmolada, Auronzo, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Falcade, Misurina, Nevegal, San Vito di Cadore, and Sappada.
The resort of Arabba is surrounded by the Sella Massif, Mount Civetta, and the Marmolada.
Arabba includes 89 kilometres of ski runs and 35 ski lifts. From the village of Arabba skiers can reach the largest glacier in the dolomites: The Marmolada (3342 metres) also known as the 'Queen of the Dolomites'. This glacier recently has been included in the Dolomiti Superski territory.

The village of Auronzo (879 metres) sits at the foot of the Lavaredo's three peaks and is surrounded by woodland. Auronzo boasts 25 kilometres of local slopes (900-2500 metres). The village features slope side bars and rustic restaurants serving traditional cuisine.
Cortina d'Ampezzo (1220 metres) is one of the most stylish resorts in Italy. The resort has access to three major ski areas: Tofana, Cristallo, and Faloria. Its 140 kilometres of local slopes are particularly well suited to intermediates. Snowboarders also can enjoy the funpark with halfpipe. The lively après ski scene in Cortina features plenty of bars, piano bars, and nightclubs.

Set in the Biois Valley, Falcade has direct access to 100 kilometres of slopes, which extend between the villages of Falcade, Passo San Pellegrino, and Moena. The longest slope is the 10-kilometre-long ‘Pista Degli Innamorati' from Col Margherita to Falcade. The town centre has a modern four-seater chairlift which takes skiers up to Le Buse.
As well as offering local slopes, the resorts of Arabba, Auronzo, and Cortina d'Ampezzo are also part of the extensive Dolomiti Superski Ski Area, which includes a combined total of 553 individual pistes. The Dolomiti Superski Lift Pass allows you to ski or snowboard in any of the ski resorts of Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm, Alta Badia, Alta Pusteria, Arabba, Bruneck-Kronplatz, Cortina d'Ampezzo, Corvara, Marmolada, Obereggen, Predazzo, San Martino di Castrozza, San Vito di Cadore, Val Gardena, Val di Fassa, Val di Fiemme, Valle Isarco, and Zoldo Alto.
Other ski resorts in Belluno include Misurina (1756 metres), Nevegal (1050 metres),
San Vito di Cadore (1011 metres), and Sappada (1250 metres).
The province of Belluno is easily accessibly from Bolzano Airport - 1.5 hours away, Venice Airport - two hours away, and Treviso Airport - also two hours away.
