April can be hit or miss. Groomed runs on the back side and some of the bowls typically hold onto snow as do some of the glades and off piste. The mogul runs can turn to dirt without warning. B

I'm heading up to Louise for four days in early April, and I've never been before so I'm kinda concerned what it'll be like. How many trails are typically open and what are conditions typically like during the first week or two of April?

4 cm saved the day. Great snow off the back side where we spent the day. Front was icy / not fun in the morning but by day's end was slushed right up.

Hard packed and low visibility on Wednesday. Some fresh snow falling throughout the day, hoping that continues headed into the weekend.

Quite packed everywhere front and back. Front is very icy and crunchy even through the early afternoon so wasn't very pleasant. Back was riding pretty good though but unfortunately Larch was closed for maintenance through Noon (last time we checked). COME ON SNOW!

Louise was awesome on Sunday. Everything on the back was in great shape. Even the front was good- not chunky or icy.

Crusty in the morning on the front side, softened up around 11. Larch/Ptarmigan/back bowls all good all day. I'd suggest you ski backside early, front side afternoon. mid mountain snow most of the morning. Bottom line is that coverage is still pretty good just have to know the mountain a bit to avoid ice in the a.m.

But crusty down low, socked in in the alpine. Some snow coming down so could be improving for the afternoon.

A bluebird day. Great conditions although pow on the flat runs has been skied out a bit. The 82-85 on Goat's Eye were a real treat.

Skied all day March 16. Great conditions! No icy spots. No scraped off hills. Good quality packed powder where they groomed and good quality snow elsewhere. After it puked snow for an hour, conditions were even better. Had a blast.
