Very famous skiing area. Everybody knows St. Anton and St. Christoph am Arlberg. It is an amazing location because of its beautiful nature. The mountains are very high. You have endless opportunities for skiing different slopes and it takes a long time to learn to know the whole area. On the Arlberg there are always good snow conditions mostly the best in the Tyrolean mountains. Therefore it is also a freeride Eldorado where you have very long steep powderruns. There were also a lot of celebrities skiing in St. Anton and so do a lot of other people so the area is very crowded. At the end of the day many slopes are full with moguls what makes it difficult for beginners to go by ski down to the valley. So perhaps for families it is not a so good skiing area.
Beside the main area there is the Rendl skiing area but I was not there. If you want to change the area when you are located in St. Anton you can go to Lech or Zürs which are also very famous for skiing and you can go heliskiing there.
It is pretty expensive to ski there but in comparison to Switzerland it is still cheap. In the town are good restaurants, bars and possibilities for shopping. In the nights there is also enough party going on.
