    A new 4.5km (three mile) long ski run links Westendorf to the rest of the SkiWelt this winter, and as of next winter (08-09) a new eight passenger gondola will make the return trip. It will be Sir Elton's second appearance at Ischgl – he was the first star to feature in the Tirolean resort's now famous season closing concerts, back in 1995 when his grand piano was flown in beneath a helicopter.     UK band Stereophonics had a nice day in Ischgl - playing to a crowd of 20,000 skiers and boarders at 2320m in a mountain top arena. The chart-topping band (whose hits include Have A Nice Day) played as the snowclouds gathered to ensure great conditions for the remainder of the season - Ischgl's slopes stay open until Sunday 4 May.     The Stubai Glacier in Austria has reported 10cm (four inches) of fresh snow today (Monday July 14th) topping up base depths of 120cm on the ski slopes. Skiinfo's Snowfinder service is currently predicting another 48cm (19 inches) of powder by Saturday with temperatures hovering between -2 and -10 degrees Celcius. Full Article
