The ski area on the Nordkette mountain range, which can be reached in just 20 minutes from the centre of Innsbruck using the funicular and cable car, is not only a haven for ski and snowboard enthusiasts, but also for sun worshippers and for all those who simply want to savour the breathtakingly beautiful views of the city.
With a gradient of over 70%, the downhill run via the notorious “Karrinne” from the Hafelekar (2,256 m) to the Seegrube (1,905 m) should only be attempted by real experts. The Seegrube is home to the Kids Arena which offers a range of practise slopes for those who require something more gentle. It also boasts the Nitro Skylinepark where daredevil boarders and freestylers can chill out and enjoy the vibes, watch the numerous professionals perform their stunts, and practise their own jumps and tricks in the superb park complete with a 120 metre-long and 5 metre-high super pipe, floodlighting and a 2,000 watt sound system.
