Arlberg is a mountain range between Vorarlberg and Tyrol in Austria and it's home to some of the most famous ski resorts in the world: Lech, Zürs, Stuben, St. Christoph, and St. Anton.

Lech am Arlberg (1,440m) is a mountain village resort in the Bludenz district of Vorarlberg, Austria. It has grown to become one of the world's premier ski destinations and the home of a number of world and Olympic ski champions.

Lech is best known for its on and off-piste skiing and is well connected via lifts and groomed pistes with the neighboring villages.

The Arlberg is the birthplace of the modern Alpine skiing technique and the seat of the Ski Club Arlberg, one of the world's oldest ski clubs, founded in 1901. Lech is also the starting and finishing point for "Der Weisse Ring" ("The White Ring"), a circle of runs and lifts that is a popular tour and the scene of an annual race involving both experts and others.

Zürs (1,717m) at the Flexenpass, is a ski resort consisting of a few luxurious hotels. Zürs only can be reached by car or bus over a road that is sometimes closed in winter after a big dump of fresh snow due to avalanche risk.

Lech caters primarily to beginner and intermediate skiers, but offers challenges to the advanced adventurer in off-piste runs.

St. Christoph is directly linked to St. Anton by the ski pistes and a resort shuttle. Being linked to the St. Anton means that guests in St. Christoph have a vast ski area to explore. The resort has reliable snow both early and late season given the altitude and its location in the Arlberg.

Lodging in this compact resort offers easy access to the lifts and the slopes run right into the heart of the resort. Not nearly as big or vibrant as the neighboring St. Anton, the village is well suited to those who want a more sedate stay, while still accessing what amounts to the absolute pinnacle of Austrian skiing terrain.

The Stuben ski area is in the Albona mountains. The resort features the largest number of downhill runs in the region and offers a total of 10 slopes and seven lifts, which cater predominantly for intermediates. There is a well-equipped snowboarding park.

Gateway airports are Zurich (200 km); Munich 330 km; Friedrichshafen (125 km). Drive from Bludenz, Langen, Zürs, Lech. Ski buses leave the airports on weekends. Take the train from Zürich or Munich to Langen, then bus or taxi to Lech or Zürs.
