I have skied in CA, CO, NM and UT. Each resort has something different to offer, none especially better or worse than the next. If there is snow on the slope and the lifts are operational, what could be better than having all trails and all lifts operational? Regardless of which resort you are skiing. Typically, the same snowstorm hits all of aforementioned resorts and therefore is the same snow. Slow down and permit yourself to have a good time as opposed to convincing yourself that your experience is negative. Sunrise Park, Arizona, is exceptionally unique given the location of the mountains. I would encourage skiers to review the weather channels 3-D resort maps and you can compare a variety of resorts from CA, CO, UT and Europe. Unfortunately, Sunrise Park is not listed; however, you can download the Sunrise Park trail map and make the comparison. Sunrise Park has more trails than most of the infamous CA, CO and UT dog and pony show resorts. The only ding I give Sunrise Park is that the lodge is not pet friendly; however, Greer, Arizona, has dog-friendly cabins a stones throw away, literally, from Sunrise Park that are exceptional. Greer has several choices for “night life” if that is your thing, where you can dance and participate in the consumption of spirits.
