Like the title says, Sunrise is a secret gem! There is great snow that is easy to get to for most AZ residents, other than after a huge storm! The resort is relatively large and has runs for skiers of all levels. I started going there as a beginner and I have progressed to intermediate with help from the reasonably priced ski school. I will say that this resort is a no-frills destination, however that is reflected in the cheap pricing. It would be nice if there was an actual base village such as many of the resorts have, but again, this is no-frills. I enjoy coming to Sunrise again and again, and I'm so glad that I can ski all day and drive home the same evening. I skied on New Year's Day 2011 and I think that the epic day I had on the slopes is a reflection of the year to come!
