great downhill terrain, no lift lines
out of the way, no nightlife
A bit of a drive from Phoenix but well worth the effort. The park is divided into 2 bases accessible either by car or by skiing from one mountain to the other. The base lodge has all the conveniences one would need including a ski/sport shop, restaurant and a surprisingly nice bar/lounge. The staff seemed very friendly and knowledgeable about the resort. The lifts included one high speed quad and the remaining were standard 4 person and 2 person lifts that were fast enough to be able to enjoy the mountain. I was pleasantly surprised at how long the runs were and they offered plenty of challenges. My friend with me is an expert skier and certified instructor and stated how impressed he was with the conditions and the challenging runs. The added bonus was that there were no lift lines. Arizona Snowbowl had 10-20 min lines to get on slow lifts. What topped the resort off is how well they maintain the runs. I definitely recommend this resort to anyone wanting to experience true southwest skiing, you won't be disappointed.
