I've been to Soldeu three times in the past 10 years and it has changed a lot both in the resort and on the mountain.

In the resort you can still find lively bars but mostly it has moved up market with luxury hotels opening and the grotty places disapperaring. We visited the Hermitage which has a fantastic spa - must be the best in Andorra apart from the Caldea place in the capital. The duty free is still good but it doesn't seem hugely cheaper than other places any more, especially the lift ticket which was very expensive.

On the mountain it's much better too with an incredible amount of high speed lidfts - especially six seated express chairlifts though there also seem to be a lot of gondolas, and the ending of borders between neighbouring ski areas, all now just parts of Grandvalira, make it a huge area like the bigger places in the Alps ansd much biggher than most places in the US.
