Grandvalira is Andorra’s biggest ski region and incorporates the resorts of Soldeu el Tarter, Pas de la Casa/Grau Roig, Encamp, and Canillo. The area offers 173 pistes in total with skiing between 1710 and 2640 metres altitude and a maximum vertical of 930 metres.

Soldeu el Tarter (1710 metres) is the ski capital of Andorra. This charming village draws all levels of skiers with 92 kilometres of runs (14 green, 15 blue, 12 red, and 11 black) linked by 29 lifts. The 380 snow cannons offer even coverage and snowboarders will enjoy the snowpark.

The village of Soldeu features many four and five-star hotels as well as plenty of bars and restaurants lining the main street. Here you can taste everything from traditional Andorran fare to a wide choice of international dishes.

Pas de la Casa/Grau Roig (2050 metres) is renowned for its lively nightlife and young atmosphere. It offers 100 kilometres of piste linked by 31 lifts. The 382 snow cannons guarantee excellent conditions. Snowboarders can practise tricks at the snowpark. The village is known as Andorra’s winter party capital and is particularly popular with the 18 to 30s crowd. Many start the evening with a pub crawl of the countless British bars before dancing into the early hours at the nightclubs.

Encamp (2060 metres) offers 63 pisted runs (29 green, 23 blue, and 11 red) linked by 29 lifts. The resort of Encamp is set above 1500 metres so snowfall is reliable, but it also has 320 snow cannons for even coverage. Encamp also features a snowpark for boarders. Neighbouring Canillo has three pisted runs (one black and two blue) reaching a skiable height of 2465 metres altitude.

La Massana (1550 metres) is one of Andorra’s biggest resorts and offers access to 89 kilometres of pistes linked by 26 ski lifts. The resort is also connected to neighbouring Pal-Arinsal (1500 metres) offering 63 kilometres of pistes for all levels (four green, 16 blue, 16 red, and five black runs) linked by 30 ski lifts. Skiers can reach an altitude of 2560 metres.

Despite the laid-back appearance of the resort, there is a buzzing après ski scene with plenty of bars and restaurants. Pal-Arinsal has recently merged with the 24 kilometres of runs in neighbouring Ordino (1940 metres) to form the Vallnord ski area. Vallnord features 66 runs in total connected by 41 ski lifts. Lesser known Les Escaldes has skiing up to 2640 metres.

Andorra is served by two main airports Toulouse – Blagnac in France (196 kilometres away) and Barcelona in Spain (202 km away).
