All the temperature fluctuation has caused a lot of melt and everything has formed a pretty solid crust. It was a good day for ripping groomers and the parks were stellar, but it got pretty icy and treacherous outside of the groomers.
Fantastic weekend! powder everywhere! Was even sinking in walking around the groomed snow in the village first thing. Goats Eye was incredible by sunday, with untracked hip deep powder in the trees. WINDY on the top face before you got in, but entirely worth it.
It snowed throughout Sunday. Powder was thick on the ground. Top of Goat and Divide spoilt the party, with low visibility and strong winds. This may partly explain why it wasn't busy; but who's complaining. Sunshine needed the snow.
There was powder to be had today but you had to go look for it and it was crunchy. Best was on the left of the strawberry chair and parts of goats eye, knee deep in places. Good soft groomers too for loads of carving.
Awesome day on the hill, minus the gong show crowds!! Parking was crazy, but the hill was mint. The week of powder did wonders, the wind was a bit rough on Goats Eye, but Wawa and Standish were a blast. Temp held below freezing so the powder wasn't very sticky.
