I LOVE this place, I have been every year for the last 5 years. Stunning scenery, friendly people, great boarding/riding, deserted runs, world class terrain park. I loved it so much i cam back and got married here. It can get cold but if you miss January and beginning of February you should be ok. I would recommend staying in Banff rather than Lake Louise, although it is closer to the slopes there is absolutely nothing to do (i know, i've done it). Banff has all the shops and night life.
We never hire a car as the bus service to all 3 resorts is second to none, if one bus is full there is another right behind, and you can't drink and drive when out at night! The terrain park is designed by some of the best in the world, and takes up nearly a whole run through the tree line. huge kickers and rails and also some for the beginners. The views include the Chateau Lake Louise, the lake itself and the glacier. this is one of the most photographed places in Canada, when you see it for yourself you will know why. Banff has lots of shops and restaurants so you will never get board.. shop til you drop! Pick up a free Banff guide from many outlets, this has everything you could possibly do in Banff written in one small book for you to read.
This is one place not to be missed, guaranteed snow, and with some of the best powder found anywhere in the world. Cheap day trips to the likes of Kicking Horse and Panorama are offered from £40 for lift pass and transport, and highly resommended.
