Air Travel:

The Calgary International Airport (YYC) is your gateway to ski the big three, namely Lake Louise, Sunshine and Banff Mount Norquay. The airport is just 11 miles from downtown Calgary. Most major airlines have a home at YYC, including Air Canada, Continental, Delta, Horizon, United, US Airways, American, Westjet, British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, and more.

By Car:

Head West, young man (and woman). Use Hwy 8 from the airport to Hwy 40. Then it's onto HWY 1 and Hwy 93 into Lake Louise. It will take about two and half hours, depending on weather conditions.

Those skiers and riders coming from the West should also look for HWY 1 East through the towns of Kamloops and Revelstoke into Banff National Park. Hwy 93 provides the final leg into Lake Louise.

Ground Transportation:

The Banff Canmore Airport Express Shuttle (877-992-2633; www.banffairportshuttle.com) is a private, cost effective and convenient way to travel between YYC and Banff, Lake Louise,  Golden, B.C, and Canmore.
