For the reviewer who complained back in 2008 that Alyeska needs to expand and build more, I'd just like to say.. you haven't been up there lately! :-O
It seems to me that the new owner has worked hard over the past three years in improving the runs, adding additional lighting, and bringing in bands on the weekends (along with the various festivals and events they have going)
I just moved to Anchorage from Denver last Winter and have been blown away at the skiing at Alyeska. Have to say ... while other places in the lower-48 have been complaining of lack of snow, it has NOT STOPPED SNOWING HERE SINCE MID-NOVEMBER!! I mean, seriously... we have SNOW!!
More than anything, I have to hand it to the new owner of Alyeska Ski Resort for the changes he's been making since I first visited the resort in 2009. Mind boggling! Oh- and yes, he heard the complaints loud & clear that more nightlife activity was needed and has addressed that too.
What a fun place to spend the weekend!!
