Area Profile

Jay Peak has been known for its unbelievable terrain, incomparable glades, and abundant natural snowfall for 50 years. Vermont’s only Aerial Tramway is one of eight lifts accessing 385 acres of terrain, including 76 trails.

Jay Peak's boundary-to-boundary woods policy makes it a favorite among advanced skiers and riders but the glades aren't for experts only. The mountain also has the most beginner and intermediate tree skiing in the East. New skiers and riders, be sure to check out The Zone, Jay Peak's learning area, which includes 80 acres of wide, gentle, easy to maneuver trails and introductory glades.

The resort recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and expanded to four-season operations. Ski in/out condos and townhouses continue to be built in the Jay Peak Village, with about 80 units completed. The resort continues to explore its glade network, acreage and vertical while preserving the environment.

Lodging Profile

Jay Peak has increased its bed base by 50 percent in recent years. In addition to the new ski in/out condos and townhomes, there is a variety of lodging options, including the Hotel Jay and single family homes. The majority of the mountain's accommodations are slopeside, and those units that do not have direct trail access are just a short walk to the Village Chair, the nearest lift.

Services Profile

Breakfasts and dinners are available daily in the Hotel Jay restaurant, the Alpine Room (breakfasts and dinners are included in all Hotel Jay lodging packages). Lunch is served daily in both the Stateside and Tramside cafeterias and in the International Restaurant on the weekends. Ski shops are located in the base lodges on Stateside and Tramside. The Learning Center (for kids and adults), Rental Shop, Demo Center and Customer Service are all located on Tramside. The Daycare Center is located on Tramside, and is free for on-property lodging guests - call (802) 988-2611 to reserve.

Area Recreation Profile

Snowmobiling, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, games room (in Hotel Jay), sleigh riding, snow cat rides, Monday Night Welcome Party, dairy and maple farm tours.

Snowboarding Profile

The whole mountain is a natural snowboard park including berms, jumps, halfpipe, and a terrain park. Jay Peak has four distinct freestyle zones for skiers and riders of all abilities. The parks are "progressive," allowing beginning riders to start small and progress to larger features.
