Area Profile

Far from the crowds at other resorts, 12 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon is a whole different world where the sense of calm and peacefulness might be described as “solitude”.

For 2007-08, Solitude Mountain Resort celebrates their Golden Anniversary when, 50 years ago, the first skiers descended off the slopes of Solitude in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Over 1,200 acres of uncrowded terrain - including Honeycomb Canyon - and a European style-lodging village, with vertical of 2,047 ft.. Solitude has eight lifts, including one high-speed quad, one fixed quad, two triple chairs, and four double chairs.
