Ski Santa Fe is located high above what has become one of the top visitor destinations in the
nation, the historic and artistic town of Santa Fe, so when you ski or ride, be sure to save time for the town.
For a smallish resort, it has a wonderful range of terrain in average snow seasons, from isolated beginner slopes to lots of cruisers, some long bump runs, great glades and tree runs, and even a few short chutes and small bowls.
The out-of-bounds but legal Big Tesuque run is a powder hound's delight that ends on a luge-like forested trail leading to the access road. Hitch back up or park a second vehicle at the turn-out. New for 2006/07: New Millennium Triple Chair.
There's no lodging on the mountain, but 15 miles away in town you have a fabulous selection of small and large hotels (many with spas), motels, inns, and B&Bs, as well as wonderful dining options.
Contains two dining areas - at the base lodge featuring a good cafeteria open for breakfast and lunch (and brown baggers), and Totemoff's Bar & Grill located mid-mountain. Chipmunk Corner provides ski lessons, rentals, snow play, lunch, and rest for kids, as well as day care for infants 3 months old to 3 years old. Rental shop (very crowded on weekends and holidays), retail shop, and large Adaptive Ski Program, plus a wide variety of lesson programs.
World-class art and history museums, hundreds of galleries, performing arts centers, craft shops, walking history tours, etc. at the base of the mountain in Santa Fe, plus low-elevation (often snow free) hiking trails, indoor public pools, gyms, mountain biking, birding, fishing, nearby white water sports (in spring), and rock climbing.
Snowboarding is available on all trails. Snowboard rentals and lessons available daily.
