Gunstock's tradition of family skiing began during 1937, when the first snowtrains arrived at Laconia. Gunstock has grown into a high quality ski area, still catering to families, mostly from the Boston area, and offers one of the region's largest night-skiing operations. Gunstock invested $4.2 million in expansion last season, including: a new high-speed detachable quad chair, updating snowmaking system, 75 percent more freestyle terrain, and new lights for around 25 acres of night terrain.
