Aspen Highlands is a 12,500-foot mountain with ambiance and attitude. It is meant to be skied - hard. With 970 acres to play in and a 3,635-foot vertical, the mountain is canted to the advanced skier and is constantly looking for ways to further challenge those who come here to do just that. Last year it was Deep Temerity, a speedy new triple chair which climbs 1,700 vertical feet in a little over seven minutes and accesses acres of new advanced and expert landscape. The mountain hopes to add an additional 270 acres of new terrain in the years ahead. Plenty of mid-mountain beginner terrain to practice on before hitting the steeps. But for the locals, it's Highland Bowl - an off-piste thrill ride which culminates in untracked descents down 45-degree pitches.
Twenty nine beds at the base of the mountain and 14,000 beds within 10 minutes. Free bus service every 15 minutes.
Restaurants, cafeterias, two bars and ski shop. Ski rentals available on-site. Lessons offered for telemark, racing, Skiwee, snowboarding; parallel, exteme and adventure lessons. Snow Puppy Ski School for ages 3-6. Aspen Valley Hospital one mile away.
NASTAR course available.
Snowboarding is available throughout the ski area.
